The best part? They're good for you. Seriously. No added sugar, no flour, no dairy. Just goodness. I got this recipe from Pinterest, here (picture from the same source). I couldn't find the original person who posted it, so if someone knows, pass it on to me, please!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 C oats
- 2-3 very ripe bananas
- 1 C unsweetened applesauce
- Handful of raisins or craisins
- Cinnamon to taste.
Mash up the bananas and throw everything together and mix well. Plop balls of the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350 for about 30 minutes.
I added a bit more oats because mine seemed kind of runny, and I baked it for about 20-25 minutes, not 30. You may have to just check on them. You want them soft, but not runny, and certainly not burnt.
I stored them in the fridge, and I found them better after a couple days. They reminded me of those Milkbite granola bars. They were soft and moist little oatmeal bits that were deliciously sweet, without any added sugar! They were so easy to make, and I felt good eating them. I think you will, too! Give them a try!
